Y7 Netballers

Congratulations to our Year 7 Netballers who have really gelled together. As a team they have recently finished runners-up in the Whitby, Ryedale Partnership Netball tournament which was held at Lady Lumley’s School. They are now looking forward to playing in matches after the Christmas break.
 

U16 Girls Football Success

Our U16s team have had a great fortnight. The girls secured a win against Rossett School in the U16 County Cup they then went on to win the U16 One Day Shield where they didn’t lose a goal against the other teams. There next game saw them take the win against south Hunsley in the U16 National Cup and have beaten Ryedale in the quarter final of the District Knock-Out Cup. STEM Event
A number of parents and students attended the recent STEM event in our Drama Studio. The evening which was run in conjunction with Derwent Training Association saw a number of local employers in the Science and Engineering Sector come into school to help parents and students to learn about career choices and listen to speakers about their experience in STEM. Open Day – Tuesday 4th July – 9.30am – 3.00pm

Prospective parents and students are invited to our open day event to see us in operation on a normal school day. Tours will operate between 9.30am and 3.00pm and the Headteacher will give a short presentation at 10.00am and again at 2.00pm. Parents’ Forum: iPad Know-How for Parents

Restart a Heart Day

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service has been in school to provide free cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to mark the European Restart a Heart Day. Training was given to around 20,000 youngsters across 106 secondary schools in Yorkshire. This CPR training was rolled out to Year 8 students who really got to grips with their dummies. Re-direction for drop off and pick up on Middlecave Road PLEASE see attached letter regarding major gas works taking place on Middlecave Road over the next few weeks.
