Going Places

Harry Wardle’s passion and talent for cycling is taking him places – quite literally.  Two wheels are by far his preferred method of transport – be that a road bike or mountain bike – and he’s taken part in competitions in venues as diverse as the velodrome with its aerodynamics and pristine track to the muddier cyclocross where he often has to carry his bike.

For the second year running, Malton School’s Rock Challenge Team have won the York and North Yorkshire Open Heats held at the York Barbican on 25 March – and are now through to the Northern Heats on 28 June.

Operating Theatre Live comes to Malton School

Malton School Entertains

On Saturday, 2 March from 7pm, the Milton Rooms in Malton will be filled with the sound of music in a concert organised by Malton Town Council in aid of the Mayor’s charities, and featuring Malton School orchestra and choir, as well as local group Charity Brass.

Sixth Form Taster Days

The School will once again be hosting its annual taster days for year 11 students on Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 January. The days will give any prospective student the opportunity to:
* Experience a wide range of sample lessons

STEM EVENT

STEM Event
A number of parents and students attended the recent STEM event in our Drama Studio. The evening which was run in conjunction with Derwent Training Association saw a number of local employers in the Science and Engineering Sector come into school to help parents and students to learn about career choices and listen to speakers about their experience in STEM. Restart A Heart Day

Today mark’s European Restart A Heart Day. The Yorkshire Ambulance Service came into school to deliver training to our Year 8 students on how to administer CPR. The students had their own dummies to work on and were taken through the necessary steps to give CPR. Today more than 25,000 youngsters across 125 secondary schools in Yorkshire will be given the life saving training.

Open Day – Tuesday 4th July – 9.30am – 3.00pm

Prospective parents and students are invited to our open day event to see us in operation on a normal school day. Tours will operate between 9.30am and 3.00pm and the Headteacher will give a short presentation at 10.00am and again at 2.00pm. A Time to Celebrate

The second of our annual Celebration Evenings took place this week when students in the Upper School were rewarded for their hard work.
We also welcomed back some of our recent school leavers who returned to collect trophies and awards for excellence in their work.
This year, for the first time, our celebration evening has been split into two evenings giving even more students the opportunity to be rewarded.
