WWI Centenary Battlefield Tour

Standing admist the war memorials of France and Belgium, 3 pupils from Malton School read poetry to an international audience. With the backdrop of graves and tributes, they recited verse from various poets.  The students were part of a group from the UK who had the unique opportunity to participate in a literary project run by the University College London.

Students care to help

Students from Malton School showed their caring side when they spent the day at Welburn Hall School, near Kirbymoorside.
The Year 12 students who are all studying Health and Social Care spent time in the morning working as classroom assistants with students ranging from KS3 to college age.
In the afternoon our students helped the pupils with a dress rehearsal of their nativity, getting pupils ready, face painting, filming and photographing the performance and even standing in for missing pupils.

Retracing the Revolution in Paris

Parisians were given a grilling by students from Malton School when they descended on their city.
Our Sixth Formers spent five days in Paris at the start of December where they interviewed French people to practise their conversational language skills.

Opportunity Knocks

Students had the chance to find out what skills, qualifications and training are required for different career paths at an event in Pickering this week.
The Year 9 students were invited to Opportunity Knocks at Lady Lumley’s School to meet employers from across Ryedale.
They visited the various stands to chat to employers about their training and career opportunities. The students found it very helpful in deciding on course or career options.
