History
Malton School has a history dating back to 1547, when it was founded by a Royal Charter signed by King Henry VIII. Its status, and its location, have changed numerous times since then but September 2021 will see the 50th Anniversary of the creation of Malton School as it is now known. To find out more about its history, please follow one of the following links:

Our thanks go to Steve Fearnley, Deputy Head of Malton School 1993-2012, for the information contained within this section. The content here provides a very brief synopsis of Malton School’s history. However, Steve has written an entire book, “A History of Malton School 1547-2006” giving a much more detailed history of the school over the years, which can be purchased from the Old Maltonians website. The book is also available to read online
