16-19 Tuition Fund 2021/22 academic year

Malton School will receive 16-19 tuition funding to support a programme of intervention and catch up for students in Years 12 and 13.  Students have been identified by reviewing progress data of students who are disadvantaged and those learners with low prior attainment, meaning those who did not have a GCSE grade 4 or above in English and/or Maths at age 16.  These students have been prioritized for support in line with the funding guidance.

Our interventions will include:

  • Small group tuition in English and Mathematics for students who did not achieve a grade 4 in these subjects in the previous year beginning October 2021 and continuing as required throughout the year. Small group tuition refers to teaching of groups between 2 and 5 students.
  • Additional lessons with a teacher in the relevant subjects.
  • One-to-one online tuition and courses for identified students.
  • Additional catch-up tuition for identified students requiring further support in other subjects during the academic year.
