Admissions

As a North Yorkshire County Council school our admissions are dealt with by the local authority. The NYCC admissions policy is available on the NYCC website. Please use the NYCC website to apply to Malton School for entry in Year 7. This same website is used to apply for an ‘in-year school place’, as well as finding information regarding important dates, appeals processes and a FAQ section.

Year 7 Appeals

North Yorkshire County Council notifies parents of Year 7 secondary school place allocations at the start of March each year.  For the past few years we have been oversubscribed, which means that not all families who request Malton School are offered a place.  If you are unsuccessful, there is an independent appeals process, further details of which can be found on the NYCC website: https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/appeal-school-place
