Jumping with Style

Before Lockdown 2.0 the School’s Equestrian Team took part in a National Schools Equestrian Association Jumping with Style competition, held at Northallerton Equestrian Centre.

The competition, consisting of showjumping and cross-country fences, saw riders judged not only on their time and number of faults, but also their jumping style.  With six riders competing, including Daisy, who has just joined Malton School and is a newcomer to the team, expectations were running high.  The team put in some great performances – with a 2nd place in the 80cm class (in which we had 4 riders taking part), some fantastic marks from the judges and solid results in all 3 classes – 70cm, 80cm and 90cm.  This ensured the team placed 3rd overall and should secure them a place in the finals to be held in 2021.  Very many congratulations to everyone who took part – we wish them all the best next year.

The Equestrian Team always welcomes new members.  If you have your own pony or horse and transport and would be interested in being part of the team, do contact school (admin@maltonschool.org).
