communication home
We use two reporting systems to support school to home communication and enable you to have real-time up-to-date and relevant information on your child’s progress, attainment and homework. Each of the systems is available as an iOS or Android App which can be added to your phone and / or tablet device, as well as being accessible through a website. The two systems are My Child at School and Class Charts. Further information on each system is given below.
MCAS
We use the MyChildAtSchool [MCAS] app and web browser to enable parents to view their child’s academic performance in real-time. This facility allows exclusive access to such things as Attendance, Timetable & Progress Reports, as well as student performance data.
When students join us in Year 7, Year 12 or as part of an in-year transfer, parents will be sent their unique login details. If you are unable to access MyChildAtSchool or are having problems logging on, please contact Mr Ferrari (dxf@maltonschool.org).
class charts
Class Charts was introduced in September 2021 and replaces the school planner and system of reward stamps. Instead of recording these within their planner, teachers can add praise points and homework details to Class Charts during lessons. This enables parents and carers to monitor students’ achievements, behaviour (under our positive conduct system) and homework.
As with MyChildAtSchool when students join us in Year 7, Year 12 or as part of an in-year transfer, parents will be sent their unique login details. If you are unable to access Class Charts or are having problems logging on, please contact Mr Ferrari (dxf@maltonschool.org).
