Welcome from the Headteacher

On behalf of the Governors and staff, may I warmly welcome you to Malton, a long established and inspiring school.

We deliver an excellent quality of education and care to students by providing a nurturing learning environment, rooted in core values, with a forward looking approach to teaching and learning , so that they flourish and thrive.  The mix of these core values, with a drive for academic excellence and a focus on the development of the whole child through our extended day and personal development programme, has produced a recipe for success for our young people.  You can find out more about our Values & Ethos here.

Our students enjoy a supportive, secure and happy environment where they can develop as individuals, feel valued and achieve the best possible outcomes.  We promote their aspirations and self-esteem, and celebrate their successes.

Malton has developed an ideal balance of the best traditional values – respect, tolerance, politeness, smart appearance and an industrious work ethic – with innovative approaches, including every student having an iPad to enhance their learning, which ensures engaging and stimulating  experiences in and beyond the classroom.  This ensured that when we switched to home learning during the Covid-19 pandemic students were able to continue with their full timetable from day one.

Our broad curriculum offers a range of subjects at GCSE and A level, including the freedom for students at GCSE to select 4 optional subjects.  The vast majority of students from our vibrant and growing Sixth Form move on to university.

Facilities at Malton are excellent, especially for science, cooking, art, technology, drama and sport.  The addition of 4 new classrooms for the start of the September 2021 academic year will further enhance our existing facilities.
