Remote Learning

During periods when students are not in school, either because they are self-isolating or because school is closed (as during the national lockdowns March-July 2020 and January-March 2021), they will be expected to attend all their timetabled lessons remotely via their iPad.  Work will be set by subject staff as a combination of live learning, pre-recorded segments and resources to work through.

Our expectation of all students during remote learning periods is that they will:

  • Register for each timetabled lesson at the start of the lesson.
  • Upload evidence of remote learning to either Teams, OneNote or as directed by their subject teacher at the end of the lesson.
  • Upload homework in the same way as required by the subject teacher.

Safety

The safety of staff and students is paramount and a whole school action plan has been drawn up to ensure everyone is kept safe.  You can read the full details of this here.

Additionally, with effect from 18 March 2021, staff and students will be asked to take part in Lateral Flow Tests twice a week at home, and to report the results to both school and government.  Tests can be reported to School here.

Correspondence with Parents

Mr Williams has emailed regular updates to parents since the start of the pandemic in 2020.  Key messages have also been added to the News section of the website, as well as our social media feeds.  If, as a parent, you have not been receiving these emails, please ring us on 01653 692828 or email office@malton.pmat.academy to request a copy.

Catch-Up Premium Grant

As a school we are in receipt of a catch-up premium grant from the government.  Following on from this, we will be publishing details of:

  • How the grant will be spent.
  • How we will measure the effect of the expenditure on the educational attainment of students.

Review of Policies & Covid 19

We have a rolling programme for Senior Management and Governors to regularly review all our policies and procedures.  This process has been interrupted by Covid-19 and the requirement for new policies and procedures to be put in place.  However, we are continuing to work through our schedule and existing policies will be updated in due course.
