Students Inspired by Lockdown Challenges

Students Inspired by Lockdown Challenges

Throughout the course of lockdown, the Head issued a total of 13 challenges to students – 12 in the summer term, and one over the summer break.  With prizes offered to 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed entries, the challenges covered a huge range of subjects:

  • Best lockdown recipe
  • Best original composition
  • Best ‘found’ poem
  • Best VE Commemoration idea
  • Beat the Head of Maths
  • Best dramatic monologue
  • Most inspirational message (in French) for Bastille Day
  • Best circular local walk

Students took up the gauntlet and responded to the Challenges – often inundating the judges with entries and making the selection of winners no easy feat.  The challenge to beat the Head of Maths proved to be particularly competitive – with the winning entry even stumping Mr Muir for a while!

The Navy Blazer, our student blog featured all the winning entries for each challenge.  Huge thanks to our students for their creativity, their inspiration and also their willingness to be challenged.

We do hope you’ll take the time to be inspired too. You can access the blog here.
