Sixth Form Overview
The Sixth Form at Malton attracts highly motivated students from a wide area, and we pride ourselves on making the transition from Year 11 to Sixth Form as smooth as possible, integrating students quickly, valuing each student as an individual and giving them a firm foundation for future success. We offer a supportive and nurturing community that is designed to help you succeed as you undertake a variety of academic courses as well as a full program of extra-curricular development to help prepare you for life beyond sixth form.
The teaching is excellent (we offer more than 25 A level, BTEC and CTEC courses) meaning the majority of our students choose to go on to study at university but our programme of support and guidance is aimed equally at those who want to pursue an apprenticeship route or go straight into employment. Our Pathway scheme provides students with 3 different routes through Sixth Form, each aimed at helping you develop the right portfolio of skills, experiences and qualifications to successfully pursue your post 18 career options.
The Sixth Form received very positive comments in our last Ofsted inspection. Following the visit Inspectors commented:
- All students make good progress.
- Students spoke very positively about the quality of education and the high level of support they receive.
- Leaders value and support Sixth Form students very effectively in their studies.
- And finally, students are very proud of the school community of which they are part.
Whatever your background, we are confident that the Sixth Form at Malton will give you a caring, supportive and challenging environment to inspire you to be the best you can be. The Sixth Form section of the website should provide you with all the information you need to help you make the right choice for your post 16 education, but should you have any further questions, do please email us at sixth@maltonschool.org.
