We can’t do it without you: Stronger for being One

Are you one of the 1,500+ customers who have visited Malton Community Sports Centre over the last week? If you are, thank you so much for your support.  It’s our customers who make us such a successful community venue – we really couldn’t do it without you.

If you haven’t visited yet, we would love the opportunity to welcome you to witness for yourself both the outstanding facilities and the wide variety of activities on offer.  More importantly you could be part of the future of the centre.

With over 80 parking spaces and 20 bike racks, and even a bus stop outside, there really is no reason not to visit.  Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are more than happy to share their expertise and if one of our partner organisations happens to be on site when you visit, you could speak to them direct about why they support us and believe in our future.

So many people have invested considerable time and effort into making the Centre the success it is today and we all want to build on this for the benefit of even more residents and members of our community.  As we grow, we want to reach out to help more people by working together.

We also have an exciting new vision which we will share with you in our final story on the work of MCSC.  To whet your appetite here is what one of our supporters said:

“The Sports Centre is an important asset to the town and surrounding communities as well as excellent facility for Malton School.  Vitally also, from the perspective of the Stronger Communities programme, the centre has always aimed to break down health inequalities and ensure provision and engagement with vulnerable or less heard groups within the community.  This is clear both in terms of classes and interventions provided directly and also partnership initiatives such as Strong and Steady or the Holiday Activity Fund initiative FEAST.  The centre recognises the importance of working with community partners and the value of their steer and expertise.  This provides the robust foundation for development and the ambitions they have at their heart to ensure their activities and facilities help people lead healthy and happier lives.”  P. Chandler. Stronger Communities Delivery Manager Ryedale and North York Moors

“Given the successful track record of Malton Community Sports Centre, I have no hesitation in supporting this new facility, and believe the staffing team at the centre will deliver an enhanced programme of community engagement across all areas of sport, leisure, fitness and wellbeing, further developing the centre’s reputation as a leading facility for community support and engagement in the district.”  Steven Wade, North Riding County FA

We can’t wait to tell you about our plans for the future development of the Centre to enhance and build on our current offering and give us an even stronger community focus. But we can’t do it without you – we are all healthier, fitter and stronger for being one.
